Generations of Faith for Byzantine Churches Spreads to Canada

Every two years, all the Bishops, clergy and staff of Canada come together to learn as a Church. Encounter 2008 took place on May 26 to May 27, 2008. in Edmonton, Alberta this year. The theme of Encounter 2008, was Evangelization and Catechesis. Patriarch Husar gave the keynote presentation about what is evangelization, who evangelizes, who is to be evangelized and why we need to evangelize. Sr Ann Laszok, OSBM followed the next day with how we can evangelize and catecheticize the whole parish community. She explained how Generations of Faith for Byzantine Churches works. Generations of Faith for Byzantine Churches is an intergenerational catechetical process for a parish that wants to grow in faith and love of God. Other workshops (see schedule).

As a result of the conference input, the Eparchies of New Wesminster and Alberta are planning on obtaining training and implementing Generations of Faith for Byzantine Churches within the next year.
